Web hosting with php.ini and MySQL remote access?

I am looking for a shared hosting company that will give us access to the php.ini file and also allow MySQL remote access. Great service and other features are important too, but I am having a hard time finding a company that allows both?

This isnt possible (the php.ini) because this would modify Runtime for everyone on the server! you might be able to get .htacess though which can do similar stuff :)

That%26#039;s not quite true. Lunarpages allows customers to add a per user php.ini that can modify the global php.ini on a per account basis. They also allow remote MySQL access. Just be sure your ip is in the Allowed Hosts field.

Reply:You might want to give usonyx.com a try? if it%26#039;s within your budget for hosting space...

they have a system called VPS, you can find out more here. http://www.usonyx.net/vps.shtml

basically what happens is they partition their servers into virtual machines, so what you get is a completely dedicated hosting environment. You can change anything, install anything, create your own users etc, just as if you installed your own server.

So yes, you can change your php.ini or your settings for MySQL. it%26#039;s all up to you cos it%26#039;s YOUR environment.

Maybe this is what you%26#039;re looking for. I%26#039;m sure there are other companies who do the same, but I only know of this one and they%26#039;ve being good to me.
